This Halloween, as we say goodbye to October’s National Cyber Security Awareness Month, it’s important it stay vigilant in protecting our data and personal information both online and on our computers and devices.
Malware, hacking and other cyber threats are far scarier than the ghosts and goblins that roam the streets on All Hallows Eve. Especially if you are a business in which your customer or stakeholder information and financial data are the backbone of your services and products, protecting these valuable resources is not just a suggestion, but an imperative in today’s evolving online environment.
This year, the FBI reported that ransomware attacks are on the rise. Even more notable is the fact that, according to a survey conducted by the Association of Corporate Councel, employee error is the most common cause of a data breach.
While a comprehensive disaster recovery plan and business continuity model are just good business practices these days, there are also some basic steps you and your employees can take to make digital and cyber security awareness a part of your everyday routine.
